What is Ocean Bill of Lading?

Ocean Bill of Lading is legal document that is issued by shipper's agent or carrier it is also as a contract between shipper and steamship company. Bill of lading is usually as evidence that confirm when and where the goods delivered., what is the type and characteristic of goods, and to whom the goods it may be concern. An order of bill of lading express the party to the notified at the destination

The bill of lading is also known as transaction part in shipping world which is as important part when we use to make the letter of credit.  Most letters of credit call for "on board" bills of lading, which provide proof to the buyer that the shipment has been placed on board the vessel.

The types of bill of lading based on characteristics can be concluded as follows:

1. Non negotiable copy of bill of lading: it is used when the consignee is directly received at port of destination.

2. Negotiable order bill: It is used when the shipper must endorse the bill of lading before delivery executed.
